iHeartMedia has acquired the rights to the Verdict with Ted Cruz podcast, which will see the Republican Senator’s podcast air on the broadcaster’s popular iHeartRadio app.
“An offer has come in from iHeartRadio to take this show to a huge national audience — it’s already obviously at a national audience on podcast, but on radio stations,” co-host Michael Knowles said during the podcast announcing the move, adding “iHeart has a gigantic network” and can “fund production” as well as “dump a whole bunch of money into marketing”.
The move, will see Cruz leave his former co-host behind. Knowles works full-time for The Daily Wire, so he cannot accompany Cruz to iHeartMedia. He will be replaced on the podcast by Ben Ferguson, who currently hosts The Ben Freguson Podcast for iHeart.
According to Chartable.com, Verdict with Ted Cruz is the 14th most popular political podcast, and the 49th largest news podcast.
