After weekend host Lawrence Jones helmed the timeslot previously occupied by Tucker Carlson this week, Kayleigh McEnany will get the opportunity to host the program next week.
A report from Mediaite claims McEnany has been charged with hosting Fox News Tonight in the 8:00 PM ET timeslot.
The program has experienced a steep decline in viewership after Carlson’s departure. After averaging more than 3 million viewers per night with Carlson, it is now roughly half of that. Fox & Friends anchor Brian Kilmeade had the unenviable task of filling in in the immediate days after Carlson’s departure, before Jones stepped in for the first week of May. Ratings did rebound, slightly, while Jones hosted the program.
McEnany should be no stranger to Fox News viewers. She co-hosts the network’s midday program Outnumbered alongside Harris Faulkner and Emily Compagno. Previously, she worked as the White House Press Secretary under former President Donald Trump.
