Megyn Kelly, a host on SiriusXM, believes that Fox News may be behind the recent leak of videos featuring Tucker Carlson, which Media Matters shared. She shared her thoughts on the aftermath of Carlson’s departure from the network and suggested possible actions he could take in the future during her appearance on The Joe Pags Show on Thursday.
Kelly claimed that disclosing the information benefits Carlson by portraying him in a more relatable and human way to the public.
“If anything, it’s making them fall more in love with Tucker, it humanizes him, and it shows you that he’s the same man off the air as he is on the air,” Kelly said. “He’s not some split personality like many of these news actors. That’s how dumb they (Fox News) are; they don’t even understand the audience or know what they’re dealing with.”
Megyn Kelly worked at Fox News as a correspondent, anchor, and host on different shows, including The Kelly File, America Live, and The O’Reilly Factor. She reported significant events like the 2012 presidential election and moderated multiple Republican primary debates. In 2017, she left Fox News to join NBC News.
“If this is the best they’ve got against Tucker, they’ve lost their fastball”, Kelly said, referring to the leaked videos.
On Thursday, Media Matters shared a new video of Carlson filmed behind the scenes. In the video, he makes inappropriate comments about a makeup artist, talks about women’s bathroom habits, and questions if they engage in pillow fights. This was discovered after another video in which Carlson complained about Fox Nation.
“This stuff isn’t going to alienate Tucker from his audience; if anything, they are more determined to support the guy,” she said. “The boycott numbers at 8:00 PM clearly show. They have hemorrhaged away their audience; they have lost two-thirds of their audience at 8:00 PM. The whole channel in the primetime, which is what pays the bills, is being punished, so their strategy is failing.”
Sources close to Megyn Kelly have revealed that Fox News still employs Tucker Carlson, despite rumors of his termination. However, an agreement is expected to be reached to provide him with a payout instead of terminating his contract.
“If I were Tucker, I would breach [the contract],” said Kelly. “I don’t want my $30 million because he will have that plus more waiting for him in the independent lane.”
Valuetainment CEO Patrick Bet-David has extended an offer to Tucker Carlson to join his media company for a whopping $100 million.
