More Leaked Tucker Carlson Texts Reveal He Was ‘Stuck’ With Fox News

Date:

More unredacted text messages sent by former Fox News host Tucker Carlson show his behind-the-scenes feelings about the network and his feeling that he was in a difficult position.

The Daily Beast’s Confider claims Carlson told Fox News anchor Bret Baier in November 2020 that the network’s decision to call Arizona for President Joe Biden would cause wide-ranging issues for Fox News. He did want those problems to affect his future with the network.

“I’ve got four more years here. I’m stuck with Fox,” Carlson allegedly wrote. “Got to do whatever I can to keep our numbers up and our viewers happy.”

Roughly one month later, when Fox News was under fire by Trump and his allies, Carlson told Baier he was disappointed in the way events had transpired, but had nowhere else to turn in terms of employment.

“It’s so sad. He’s going to break some shit. He already is. Wish I knew where to run. But I’ll die here.”

The messages are the latest in a string of leaks surrounding Carlson’s high-profile exit from Fox News. Previously, several videos had leaked to Media Matters attempting to paint the host in a negative light.

A report from The New York Times claimed a text message from Carlson to a producer in January 2021 “set off a panic” inside Fox News when it was discovered. In the text, Carlson shared his joy in watching an Antifa member be assaulted by Trump supporters, before saying “That’s not how white men fight”. He has faced charges of racism for his encapsulation of the events.
