Former St. Louis Radio Voice Pleads Guilty to Child Porn Charges

A former St. Louis radio broadcaster has pleaded guilty to federal charges of possession of child pornography. Harry Hamm, 77, worked as KMOX’s entertainment editor for years before he was arrested in 2019.

The station immediately fired him after his arrest. Federal agents reportedly found dozens of images on Hamm’s personal and work devices.

“Altogether, the defendant possessed 57 unique images of child pornography,” St. Louis prosecutors said. “Some of the images depicted prepubescent minor children engaged in sexually explicit conduct, and some depicted sadistic or masochistic conduct, or other acts of violence.”

Hamm started at KMOX in 1975 and soon became a fixture in St. Louis. Over the course of his career, he interviewed celebrities such as Harrison Ford and Julia Roberts.

He became known for his work in the local arts community and fundraising efforts for sick children.

The St. Louis Post Dispatch reported that Hamm pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of child porn and one count of access with intent to view child porn. Sentencing was originally expected to take place immediately after the Wednesday plea deal, however, it was delayed two months after the judge objected to allowing lawyers to file sealed memos regarding the sentence Hamm should receive.
