Philadelphia Radio and TV Station to Air District Attorney Debate

The participants will face questions from a panel of reporters who cover crime, justice, and politics.

Philadelphia’s Newsradio KYW and NBC10 will air a debate between candidates in the high-profile Democratic primary for Philadelphia District Attorney. Larry Krasner, the incumbent District Attorney, and his challenger, former homicide prosecutor Carlos Vega. 

The participants will face questions from a panel of reporters who cover crime, justice, and politics.

“Both Krasner and Vega’s campaigns have agreed to a fast-paced format designed to elicit a healthy, informative debate about the critical issues facing the city of Philadelphia ahead of the May 18th primary, ” Audacy said in a statement. “Specific topics and questions will not be shared with the candidates in advance.”

The event will also be streamed live on each station’s digital platforms, including the Audacy app and KYWNewsradio.com, as well as the NBC10 and Telemundo62 apps for Roku and AppleTV.

KYW Newsradio Crime & Justice Reporter Kristen Johanson and Community Affairs reporter Cherri Gregg, and NBC10 political reporter Lauren Mayk and NBC10 anchor Jacqueline London will be the moderator.

The debate will take place on May 5, starting at 7 p.m. The event is not open to the public and there will be no live audience.

Clay Travis Goes on Cross Country Speaking Tour

Clay Travis is a busy man. Between hosting The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show and continuing to contribute to the outlet he founded, OutKick, he stays active. This week, he added a pair of speaking engagements on opposite ends of the country.

On Tuesday, Travis was in Atlanta and spoke in front of more than 300 attendees at Greater Georgia’s second annual Legislative Awards ceremony. As emcee of the invent, he welcomed severe guests including former U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler, Gov. Brian Kemp (R) and his Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, as well as State Rep. and Speaker of the Georgia House Jon Burns.

During his time in Atlanta, Clay Travis co-hosted his nationally syndicated show at XTRA 106.3 FM.

On the very next night, Travis spoke in the Seattle area at Hillsdale College’s National Leadership Summit, which drew more than 500 attendees. A sponsor of his radio program, Hillsdale College welcomed Travis to address politics, economics, and culture in his keynote address.

While he was in the Seattle area, Travis visited affiliate 1090 The Patriot, where he hosted The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show.

Stephanie Miller Named to Buffalo Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame

The Buffalo Broadcasters Association has named its 2024 Hall of Fame class and longtime news/talk host Stephanie Miller is one of nine inductees.

Host of the nationally syndicated Stephanie Miller Show, Miller began her radio career doing comedy bits on WBEN host Sandy Beach’s program. She later moved into talk radio roles at both KFI and KABC in Los Angeles, among other career endeavors including acting and stand-up comedy.

“Our Hall of Fame classes become more impressive every year,” said Steve Monaco, president of the Buffalo Broadcasters Association. “Each inductee has made important contributions to broadcasting in Buffalo.”

  • Sheila Murphy (first female TV news anchor in Buffalo)
  • Mary Travers Murphy (WKBW-TV anchor)
  • Howard Simon (Longtime WGR 550 morning host)
  • Shredd & Ragan (Tedd “Shredd Kasten and Tom Ragan, rock radio morning hosts)
  • J. “Dooley” O’Rourke (WGRZ-TV news anchor)
  • Jim DiMino (Sales Manager Buffalo/Toronto Public Media)

The Hall of Fame class of 2024 will be officially inducted at a ceremony held on Thursday, September 19th at Samuels Grande Manor.

News Talk 580/105.9 KMJ was honored by the City of Fresno Thursday, as hosts Christopher Gabriel and Christina Musson were honored for their service to the community.

Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer declared Thursday, April 18th, 2024 as Christopher Gabriel Day, Christina Musson Day, and Fresno’s Morning News Day.

The city bestowed the honors on the hosts due to recent awards they have won, as well as their focus on serving the community in the city.

Earlier this year, Gabriel — who hosts KMJ Morning News alongside Liz Kern Don York, and Gabe Navarro — won Golden Mike Awards for Best Newscast and Best Sportscast from RTNA Southern California.

Additionally, Musson won her second consecutive Gracie Award from the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation for Best Co-Host Talk/Personality in a Small/Medium Radio Market. She co-hosts Broeske & Musson with John Broeske from 9-11 AM on the Cumulus-owned news/talk station.
