Brian Kilmeade: Debate Candidates Could Learn From Radio Hosts
“But at one point when you’re arguing, you have to think about the listener and you have to be quiet.”

One of the biggest takeaways from the second 2024 Republican Presidential debate was candidates speaking over one another, with some observers questioning if the moderators lost control or not. Fox News host Brian Kilmeade argued the candidates could learn something from radio hosts about the issue.
During an appearance on 77 WABC’s Sid and Friends in the Morning, Kilmeade told Sid Rosenberg that even though the candidates were given the rules, they still continually talked over one another. He believes it shows a lack of care for what the audience consumes from the debate, and equated the situation to a radio show.
“We do this every day,” Brian Kilmeade said. “You’re gonna go engage, you’ll bring people in to Sid and Friends, and they disagree with you. But at one point when you’re arguing, you have to think about the listener and you have to be quiet. ‘Okay, listen, we’re talking over each other. I’m gonna lay out after maybe five seconds’.
“These guys didn’t stop for about a minute and a half, where we couldn’t make out one word that was said. Nobody had a sense that nothing that we were seeing was coming across. And I was astounded by that.”
Rosenberg agreed, calling it “very amateurish”.

Audio 1 has announced the Jason Lee & Kluck program will be nationally syndicated by the upstart media company.
The show featuring Jason and Warren “Kluck” has more than 40 years of combined radio experience. Currently, the program is heard on Federated Media owned 103.9 The Bear in South Bend and 98.9 The Bear in Fort Wayne. The program debuted in 2010.
“We’re beyond thrilled that a company as well-regarded as Audio 1 would show such a glaring lack of judgment in believing that our lunacy should be foisted upon a larger public,” Kluck stated.
“We are energized to find a show with irreverence and fun for everyone that not only plays on a rock format in the mid-west, but that can play on any format in any market,” Audio 1 Director of Programming Mike Ragz said.
The show will continue to be heard from 6:00-10:00 AM ET. Additionally, the pair will continue to produce the Here’s Your Freakin’ Podcast that Audio 1 will distribute.
