Minnesota Emmy award-winning news anchor Jason DeRusha has been hired to host an afternoon show on WCCO News Talk 830. The move is the latest in a series of changes designed to revamp WCCO’s local lineup. Last year, the station hired Vineeta Sawkar to host the morning show.

A statement released by parent company Audacy and obtained by Barrett News Media said WCCO news anchor Adam Carter will be promoted to co-host a new show alongside Jordana Green, airing from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. CT.

Green’s longtime co-host, Paul Douglas, will set aside daily hosting duties to become WCCO Radio’s Chief Meteorologist. Douglas will appear on-air throughout the day and ensure the station remains Minnesota’s most trusted source for severe weather updates. Douglas became Minnesota’s first certified broadcast meteorologist in 2005.

Brad Lane, Brand Manager, 830 WCCO, said DeRusha has an uncanny ability to engage and connect with everyone he talks to.

“Whether he’s delivering breaking news, telling a family story, or giving a restaurant recommendation, people trust him like a friend, and that’s exactly what the legacy and future of 830 WCCO is all about,” Lane added.

DeRusha has been nominated for more than 20 Regional Emmy Awards, and he’s won Regional Emmys for anchoring “WCCO This Morning” for breaking news coverage.

“I can’t wait to bring my love for Minnesota and Western Wisconsin, as well as my two decades of curiosity about our neighbors and our news, to 830 WCCO,” DeRusha said.

DeRusha will be heard on weekdays from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. CT, beginning June 27.

Rudy Giuliani Denies January 6th Groping Allegations

“First of all, I’m not gonna grope somebody at all, and number two, in front of like a hundred people? Plus, that day, I had extra security and I had my entire staff around me virtually all day…”

77 WABC host Rudy Giuliani has denied allegations made by former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson that she was groped by the radio host and attorney during the January 6th Insurrection.

In an excerpt from her new book, Hutchinson — who was viewed as a star witness during the January 6th Committee hearings last year — claimed Giuliani viewed her like “a wolf closing in on its prey” before he put his hand up her skirt.

“I feel his frozen fingers trail up my thigh,” Hutchinson wrote. “He tilts his chin up. The whites of his eyes look jaundiced. My eyes dart to John Eastman, who flashes a leering grin.”

During an interview on Newsmax’s Eric Bolling The Balance, Rudy Giuliani strongly denied the accusation. He interrupted Bolling before the host could finish his line of questioning.

“She claims that I groped her in a tent on January 6, where all the people went in that were very, very cold as a result of the president’s speech, etcetera. I’m gonna grope somebody? With a hundred people? First of all, I’m not gonna grope somebody at all, and number two, in front of like a hundred people? Plus, that day, I had extra security and I had my entire staff around me virtually all day because I took them to the speech as kind of a reward for all the work they did,” Giuliani argued after calling the accusation “totally absurd” and “completely, absolutely false”.

“So I brought 10 people to the speech and they were with me virtually at every moment that I was there, and if I wasn’t talking to them, I was taking pictures with people. So there would have been no occasion for this to happen. It’s completely absurd, it’s as crazy as her statement that the President jumped over the seat and took over the car.”

The accusation against Rudy Giuliani comes after he was sued earlier this year by a former employee. Noelle Dunphy alleged that Giuliani raped and sexually abused her during her tenure working for the former New York Mayor. She launched a lawsuit in May claiming she was owed $2 million by the radio host and was required to work naked. Additionally, she alleged Giuliani made racist, sexist, and anti-Semitic remarks in her presence, and also peddled Presidential pardons in exchange for payments.

Ben Shapiro: Why Aren’t Other Allegations Treated the Same as Russell Brand?

Ben Shapiro, co-founder of The Daily Wire, expressed concern about the media’s recent scrutiny of Russell Brand. Shapiro finds the timing peculiar, especially given that Brand has already admitted that all his relationships during his “promiscuous” phase, the most successful period of his career on stage and in Hollywood, were consensual.

In an op-ed, Shapiro wrote that he can’t attest to Brand’s character; however, he thinks Brand is a “good person.”

“Here’s my problem with this particular attack on Brand from the media: the timing. While he was flagrantly promiscuous and incredibly vile when he spoke publicly about sex and women, the media were championing him,” Shapiro wrote. “He was a hero of the Left when he engaged in that behavior. He was treated as some person to emulate; he was being treated as a public celebrity.”

Shapiro questioned why the media is interested in stories that have lingered for over a decade. He said Brand’s shifting political stance may have played a pivotal role. If he had maintained his alignment with prevailing political views, the media would have focused on him differently.

“People like me have been pointing it out, and we’ve been considered prudes for doing so. It’s fine in Hollywood until some point, and then suddenly it’s not,” said Ben Shapiro. “Bill Clinton did the same thing, and the media dismissed it. Why wasn’t it relevant then? Because the men were on the same side as the Left with their other values.”

He added that this pattern of selective targeting is not isolated to Russell Brand. We’ve seen similar instances with figures like Joe Rogan and Elon Musk, whose shifts in political perspectives led to media scrutiny.
