Verizon Fios and Fox Corporation have agreed to a multi-year contract to keep Fox News available for Verizon subscribers, per Mediaite.

The distribution agreement will allow Fox News, Fox Sports, Fox Network, and Fox Weather to air on Fios. Furthermore, it will include Fox’s local affiliates in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and New York as part of their deal.

“Fox is pleased to extend and expand our long-standing relationship with Verizon as we add Fox Weather and Tubi to our industry-leading portfolio of news, sports, and entertainment available to Verizon’s subscribers,” Michael Biard, Fox Corp.’s president, Operations and Distribution, said.

After recently ousting One America News from its platform, Verizon Fios has agreed to deals with two conservative news outlets, Fox News and Newsmax. The company stated that OAN failed to meet terms Verizon deemed fair for both parties.

“Our negotiation with OAN has been a typical, business as usual carriage negotiation like those that routinely happen between content distributors and content providers. These negotiations were focused on economics, as they always are, but OAN failed to agree to fair terms,” Verizon said in a statement.

“Since we were unable reach an agreement, effective July 31, 2022, we will no longer have the rights to provide our customers with this programming, and it will be removed from the Fios TV lineup.”

Subscribers looking for conservative news outlets will have two to pick from on Verizon Fios.

Over the weekend, CNN political commentator Alice Stewart died unexpectedly at the age of 58.

Northern Virginia law enforcement officers told the network that Stewart was found outdoors in a neighborhood Saturday morning after suffering an apparent medical event.

“Alice was a very dear friend and colleague to all of us at CNN,” network CEO Mark Thompson told staffers in an email. “A political veteran and an Emmy Award-winning journalist who brought an incomparable spark to CNN’s coverage, known across our bureaus not only for her political savvy, but for her unwavering kindness. Our hearts are heavy as we mourn such an extraordinary loss.”

Since joining the network in 2016, Stewart had served as a political commentator, claiming her role was to be a “conservative voice yet an independent thinker.” Before her time at the cable network, she worked on campaigns for Republican politicians like Ted Cruz and Mike Huckabee.

Many of her current and former colleagues took to social media to share tributes honoring her memory after her death was announced.

After announcing it would host the first presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle last week, CNN has decided to open up the event to other networks.

The June 27th event between President Joe Biden (D) and former President Donald Trump (R) will be made available to simulcast a network spokesperson confirmed.

While it would be willing to give up the exclusivity of the event, CNN hosts Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will still serve as moderators.

The June debate will join the September 10th event hosted by ABC News as being available to other networks, should they come to an agreement.

In addition to being available on other networks, the June debate will be available on CNN Internation, the network’s Spanish-language channel, and the Max streaming platform, as well as the network’s website.
