Dan Abrams: No ‘Home’ For Rational News Opinions

“In the cable news world, there isn’t a home for those views that don’t necessarily align.”

A study from the University of Pennsylvania recently concluded cable news is more polarized now than it was 10 years ago, and Dan Abrams of NewsNation says he’s seen that first hand.

In an interview with MediaVillage‘s News On-The-Record, Abrams said he has experienced first hand the polarization described in the study.

“My frustration is that you’re on one team or the other,” the Dan Abrams Live host said. “I am constantly accused of being dishonest, wrong, or portrayed as a villain by one side or the other because they only watch one segment. They’ll watch one segment where I will say something that that person disagrees with. ‘What happened to Dan Abrams?! He’s become crazy. He’s become this,’ and it’s hard to get people to put everything into context and look at the totality and see I’m trying to look at things issue by issue and that’s not the business model that has typically worked on cable news.”

Abrams pointed to a recent show where he disagreed with students at George Washington University for refusing to take a constitutional law class taught by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas in one segment, while then criticizing the Attorney General of Indiana for trying to find information for possible criminal charges of a doctor who performed an abortion on a 10-year-old rape victim in another.

“I don’t view that as radical. I view that as probably where most of the country is on a lot of this stuff. But in the cable news world, there isn’t a home for those views that don’t necessarily align. You’d expect to see the Clarence Thomas segment on Fox (News) and you’d expect to see the abortion doctor on segment on MSNBC and not the other.”

Greg Gutfeld: The Threat of the Smear Will Scare You Into Silence

“Gutfeld claimed that the mainstream actively wages war against men and masculinity, aiming to undermine and attack them.”

Recently, ESPN’s Samantha Ponder expressed support for athletes speaking out against biological men who are trying to compete against women in sports. During his late-night show Tuesday, Greg Gutfeld said some media pundits are furious over Ponder’s statements.

“What do they do with a woman speaking out against the bullying of women? They bully her, of course,” said Gutfeld. “Riding in on her broomstick is Nancy Armour, a ghastly sports columnist for USA Today, the official doormat for Americans staying at low-priced hotels.”

Armour stated, “Don’t be fooled by the people who screech about “fairness” to cloak their bigotry toward transgender girls and women, the transgender girls and women who have the audacity to want to play sports, in particular.”

Gutfeld claimed that the mainstream actively wages war against men and masculinity, aiming to undermine and attack them.

“Here’s the thought process, all men are evil, right up until the moment they decide that they’re actually women,” he said. “Then suddenly, their rights override everyone else’s rights, especially women who have been women the whole damn time.”

Gutfeld alleged that Armour engaged in defamation against Ponder, resulting in a lasting social stigma that will permanently shadow Ponder’s reputation.

“The threat of the smear will scare you into silence,” Gutfeld said. “Suddenly, all female athletes are defined as anti-trans. What happens when you’re labeled that? Just ask J.K.  Rowling, whose life was turned upside down by unhinged rabid activists.”

In early June 2020, J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, faced criticism for posting contentious tweets regarding the transgender community.

“Rather than debate, they (activists) denunciate, they smear, and when you assert the obvious that men and women are indeed different and placing bio men against women in sports will be unfair, they will call you a bigot.”

According to the NewYork Post, Lisa Ling, a former co-host of “The View,” has secured a position at CBS News following her departure from CNN. CBS announced on Wednesday that Ling, aged 49, will join them in the summer and be based in Los Angeles. Her role will involve covering in-depth stories for various shows, including “CBS Sunday Morning.”

CBS News co-president Neeraj Khemlani praised Ling’s interviewing skills, stating that she delivers authentic, human, and revealing interviews by immersing herself in communities and the subjects she covers.

“Lisa delivers some of the most authentic, human, and revealing interviews because of how she embeds with communities and the people she covers,” CBS News co-president Neeraj Khemlani said.

He emphasized that this approach allows her and CBS News to convey the pulse of the country and the world more experientially. Before joining CBS, Ling spent nine years at CNN, serving as the host and executive producer of “This Life with Lisa Ling.” The show delved into interracial families, sex trafficking, and artificial intelligence.

However, last November, the show and Lisa Ling’s time at CNN were terminated by the network’s new chief, Chris Licht, who had been assigned to implement extensive budget cuts.

“I can’t imagine a more suitable platform for my reporting style than CBS News, considering its long-standing commitment to exceptional news coverage and insightful storytelling,” said Ling.

Ling’s sister, journalist Laura Ling, gained nationwide recognition after she and Eugenie Lee were arrested while reporting in North Korea in 2009.

Recently, the network welcomed Natalie Morales, a former NBC News personality, who has made appearances on shows like “48 Hours,” “CBS Mornings,” and has also served as a co-host on “The Talk.” Additionally, CBS managed to secure Cecilia Vega, a former ABC News anchor, who made history as the first Latina correspondent on the renowned news magazine “60 Minutes.”

Outkick’s Tomi Lahren Takes Aim at the New York Times Over ‘The Little Mermaid’

“The review of The Times’s new live-action children’s film has sparked online backlash due to its critique suggesting the absence of ‘kink’.”

On “Fox & Friends First” Tuesday, Tomi Lahren of OutKick strongly criticized The New York Times for publishing a review of “The Little Mermaid” that denounced its absence of fun, boldness, and “unconventional elements.” Lahren expressed her strong disdain for the review, referring to it as “repugnant,” and warned companies about the importance of acknowledging the concerns of conservative parents.

“It’s completely disgusting that they would associate this with a children’s movie. But when these writers, these institutions, these publications tell you who they are, believe them. And again, this is just another notch in the belt with these leftist organizations sexualizing, exploiting children,” she said.

The review of The Times’s new live-action children’s film has sparked online backlash due to its critique suggesting the absence of “kink.”

According to movie critic Wesley Morris, who penned the review for The Times, “The new, live-action ‘The Little Mermaid’ embodies everything that nobody should desire in a movie: obedient and guarded, yet yearning for validation.”

“They have found the hill that conservatives and decent folks are willing to die on, protecting children. And we will do it every single time, ask Target, ask Bud Light, ask Kohl’s,” Lahren said. “We will protect children. We will keep them from being exploited. We will do it every time. Do not mess with us. We are done playing with this.”

Online attention was drawn to the reference to “kink” in The New York Times movie review, as highlighted by Fox News Digital. In the context of pop culture, “kink” can sometimes refer to someone’s unconventional sexual preference.

This sparked a debate among online film enthusiasts, particularly considering that “The Little Mermaid” holds a PG rating and is primarily targeted at children and families. Many individuals have questioned the necessity of including the word in the review and expressed divided opinions on its intended meaning.
