Tomi Lahren: Alyssa Farah Griffin Latest ‘Soft RINO’ On The View

The former press secretary for Vice President Mike Pence and The Pentagon joined The View as its latest “conservative” panelist, which Lahren lamented.

In her Fox News Commentary Wednesday, Tomi Lahren had strong words for new The View co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin.

The former press secretary for Vice President Mike Pence and The Pentagon joined The View as its latest “conservative” panelist, which Lahren lamented.

“In an attempt to create faux balance, the show has spent the last five plus years bouncing from soft RINO to soft RINO and this latest addition to the table is no different,” said Lahren. After pointing out Griffin’s tenure in the Trump Administration and her stance that she doesn’t want to see Trump in the White House again, Lahren said Griffin’s selection wasn’t a great choice.

“She is entitled to her opinion but if she thinks she is going to now be the voice for the 74 million Americans who voted for Trump, she is sadly mistaken,” Lahren continued. “But that’s what she claimed on Good Morning America earlier this week. That she can be some kind of bridge between Republicans and Trump supporters and tell us what the future of the GOP can and should be.

“Um, sorry Alyssa. We don’t need you telling us who to support and what to think, especially as you perch yourself on The View and look down on us. The liberals might be giving you some love and affection right now because you’re anti-Trump, but don’t be surprised if that comes back to bite you in the behind!”

Lahren’s comments come after she also criticized journalists for their influence on what she called “low information” voters.

After discussing a story by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism that found only half of users who share news stories online actually read the story, and 20% only read the headline, Lahren took members of the media to task.

“If so many admit to only reading a headline and most of the headlines are written by journalists with an admitted liberal bias, a slant, a knack for tilting the scales to the left, could this be why so many low-information viewers, readers and voters make sure poor decision at the ballot box? The moral of the story is this, don’t believe everything you read. There’s an old saying in journalism, if your mother tells you she loves you, fact check it twice. Especially if it’s coming from CNN!”

Bob Sirott Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Radio Debut

“My early radio career allowed me to adapt to television.”

Barrett News Media

June 8th, 1973. That’s the day Chicago media legend Bob Sirott got his start on WLS-AM.

In a tweet, the WGN Radio morning host shared a picture of his time at what was then The Big 89, and shared that it was the 50th anniversary of his debut on the Chicago station.

Sirott originally began his radio career on WBBM-FM in 1971 as a fill-in DJ before moving to WLS in 1973. He worked there until 1979 before joining WBBM-TV. In 1989, he shifted to a role at WMAQ-TV, before ultimately returning to radio in 2019.

“Radio is a lot more creative than television,” Sirott told Barrett News Media earlier this year. “It’s harder. My early radio career allowed me to adapt to television. It goes the other way, too. I think the television work has made me better at the radio the second time around.”

He replaced Steve Cochran as the morning host on WGN Radio. The 73-year-old saw his contract extended in 2021 to remain with the station.

Mandy Connell Off Show For A Month After Vocal Cord Surgery

Connell also revealed that Dr. Opperman had previously repaired a similar injury to her KOA colleague Ross Kaminsky.

850 KOA midday host Mandy Connell will be out of work for a month after recovering from surgery to repair her vocal cords Thursday.

Connell revealed her absence on Wednesday.

“Tomorrow morning, I will be having surgery on my vocal cords, and if you’ve never been to the blog before, and you want to see my actual vocal cords today’s the day because I have a photograph of my vocal cords on the blog today so you can clearly see what it is that my crack surgeon is going to be removing tomorrow,” Connell shared.

She then welcomed her surgeon, Dr. David Opperman, to the program to explain what exactly she’ll be undergoing. Connell also revealed that Dr. Opperman had previously repaired a similar injury to her KOA colleague Ross Kaminsky.

“We have to address the fact that you have sort of a little bump on your vocal cord that’s interfering with the way it vibrates,” Dr. Opperman revealed. “And that’s why you don’t sound like you used to a few years ago. It’s basically interfering with the sound production in your throat. So we’re going to put you to sleep very comfortably, use a little device that lets me look directly at your vocal cords, and then under a very high-powered magnification, we’re going to remove that spot.

“We actually have to lift up some of the tissue so that we can remove it without injuring the vibration surface. And that will preserve your voice and you’ll come back talking like you did five years ago.”

The doctor went on to tell Connell that her condition was likely caused by talking on-air for more than 20 hours per week in “different pitch ranges and intonations”.

CNBC Fast Money contributors Guy Adami and Dan Nathan will launch a new weekly radio show on SiriusXM Business Radio.

In an announcement from the satellite company, it was revealed that MRKT Call will air on Mondays at 12:00 PM ET beginning next week.

“I have always believed that one of the most impactful, intimate, and powerful mediums is radio,” said Adami. “Sports radio captured the attention of an untapped audience in the 1990s, and I am convinced we can do the same with a high energy, no holds barred, intelligent approach in our market show on SiriusXM.”

In addition to discussions on the latest financial news, notes, and decisions, they’ll also offer SiriusXM subscribers the opportunity to call into the program to ask for advice on stock prices and financial decisions.

“When Guy and I founded RiskReversal Media, our goal was to take our experience demystifying market-moving news on CNBC to different platforms, meeting investors everywhere they are, in their ear, live-streaming, and on the go,” said Nathan.

“Our collaboration with SiriusXM is an exciting evolution of this strategy on a medium and service we not only use but believe is best-in-class.”
