Salem radio host Brandon Tatum Wednesday shared several stories about interactions with fans from a recent trip he took from Arizona to Washington D.C.

The “Officer Tatum Show” host talked about the impact of those encounters which included a selfie in the cockpit with one of the pilots on his flight.

“Just to give you an example of how some people react when they run into me at the airport. I came from D.C. and I’m going through the security line and the TSA lady says oh my god, Officer Tatum.”

Tatum was a seven-year veteran of the Tucson Police Department before he began his career in media. He co-founded Blexit with Candace Owens.

Tatum admitted that the TSA officer’s response surprised him.

“While I was on the airplane in Charlotte traveling to Phoenix the pilot sat next to me and tried to get my attention while I was on the phone. As we were getting ready to leave, the flight attendant said the pilot wanted to speak with me.”

Tatum said he made his way to the cockpit and ended taking a selfie with the flight crew.

“On a single trip from D.C. to Phoenix I ran into three people that recognized me,” he said. “It’s incredibly demanding, the types of things that we do, being on the radio and social media, but it’s incredibly rewarding.”

24-hour news channels have been around for decades. But with the advent of social media and digital platforms, 95.5 WSB afternoon host Eric Von Haessler believes the outlets have become obsolete.

While discussing the 2024 election and cable news on The Von Haessler Doctrine Thursday, the Atlanta-based host shared his belief that the heyday of cable news has come to a close.

“I’ve been wondering this lately,” Von Haessler began. “With CNN’s numbers just so bad — all the 24-hour news channels, it’s over, but they just don’t know it’s over.”

He then half-jokingly, half-seriously questioned if those at CNN were actually hoping Donald Trump would win the upcoming 2024 election, despite their on-air personas featuring disdain for the former president.

“Do you think it’s possible that the people at CNN are secretly hoping for Trump to win? I mean, their ratings are, for them, through the roof,” Von Haessler said. “You get okay ratings just scaring people about Trump. But if Trump’s really there, he’s a real threat. I think, secretly, Anderson Cooper is going to vote for Donald Trump.”

As former President Donald Trump continues to insist he is immune from prosecution, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow has argued the opposite. Buck Sexton believes Maddow is on the wrong side of the issue.

On MSNBC, Maddow posited that if Trump was deemed immune from prosecution, he would decline to leave the White House in 2028 if elected President once more.

“If he is voted out in 2028, he cannot leave office and he is welcome to commit any crimes he wants to, as long as he is still president, in order to ignore the result of that election and stay in power for life, because otherwise he’s gonna go to prison when he gets out,” she said.

Sexton disagreed.

“(Trump Derangement Syndrome) is as real as a lot of other things that people with different kinds of anxiety disorders. Rachel Maddow is insane. She thinks that if Donald Trump wins this election, the fear is that in four more years, when he’ll be in his mid-80s, he’s going to refuse to ever leave office?,” Sexton questioned.

“Because at that point, he’s going to be able to pardon himself. And second of all, I think that, to even be thinking about this right now is twofold. It’s insane, but it’s also indicative of…they realize Trump is winning right now.”

It isn’t the first time Sexton has opined on Maddow. In the past, both he and Clay Travis have been adamant they would love to welcome the MSNBC host to The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show.
