Los Angeles talk radio host Grant Stinchfield has reached an agreement to work with the Salem Podcast Network (SPN). According to a news release, the “Stinchfield” podcast will be released on Oct. 10.

SPN was ranked the #11 podcast network in America in August by Triton Digital based on average weekly downloads. SPN averages nearly 14 million downloads per month.

Stinchfield co-hosts “The Morning Answer” on Salem’s AM 870 The Answer KRLA Los Angeles. He will continue in that role with co-host Jennifer Horn.

“This podcast is about pushing back and refusing to be silenced,” Stinchfield said in a statement. “We will expose the stories the mainstream media refuses to cover.”

Stinchfield spent nearly four years with the National Rifle Association as the host of “Stinchfield” on NRA TV. He also hosted “The Stinchfield Report” on Cumulus Media’s news/talk KLIF Dallas (570) for more than six years.

“Grant does a great morning show with Jen in Los Angeles, and we’re excited that he’s moving up on the Salem platform,” said Phil Boyce, Salem Media’s Senior VP for Spoken Word. “Now, listeners all over the country get to hear his take on the day’s news and events. We’re delighted to give him this opportunity.”

“I am so proud to be a part of Salem Media, an organization that refuses to sit idly by and watch our nation fall deeper and deeper into debt and despair,” added Stinchfield.

Nick Kayal: ‘CNN is Done’ After Chris Licht Ouster

“They are never getting out of third place, or last place, if that’s how you want to look at it.”

The shocking, while not surprising, announcement that CNN CEO Chris Licht would leave the company Wednesday morning is the talk of the news media world. 1210 WPHT morning man Nick Kayal believes Licht’s departure signals a death knell for CNN.

“It confirms a lot of things for me, personally. I think CNN is done. I think they are dead. They are never getting out of third place, or last place, if that’s how you want to look at it,” the Kayal and Company host said Wednesday morning.

“Looking up at MSNBC, who does their type of news coverage at a much more consumed level than CNN, and certainly looking up at Fox News, the leader in cable news…he makes it a year and a month and Warner Bros. Discovery, CNN’s parent company, says ‘You know what? We’ve seen enough’.”

Kayal said the situation at CNN was untenable with some employees still being loyal to former CEO Jeff Zucker, but said one situation in particular led to Licht’s downfall.

“There always seems to be some drama there,” said Kayal. “I started thinking about this last night, and now with his departure, here’s the thing: if you’re the boss — especially at these networks — you should not be part of the talking head show fodder…I’ve always felt like if you were one of these guys, and I can only do it from a talk radio — sports or news — perspective, nobody wants to know who you are. By and large, if you are about creating the brand, the content, the image, the personas, you do that behind the scenes and you really do that behind the scenes and don’t be someone your opposing rivals can talk about.”

Kayal argued that Licht stepped into a “crummy” situation, and was likely destined to fail.

KFI-AM 640 has launched a podcast series exploring the rise of antisemitism in America.

HATE: Modern Antisemitism is produced by Steve Gregory and Jacob Gonzalez. Guests include American Jewish Committee CEO Ted Deutch, Rabbi Abraham Cooper, and American Jewish University curator Dr. Michael Berenbaum.

Other guests include a Jewish school principal, an Asian-American artist who paints murals honoring silent heroes of the Holocaust, and a District Attorney.

“I, along with others, recently watched in horror as anti-Semitic protesters were seen making Nazi salutes to passersby on the 405 freeway,” KFI-AM 640 Program Director Robin Bertolucci said.

“As broadcasters, it is our duty to educate and inform our listeners and this podcast brings attention to the unseemly underbelly of Antisemitism which is sadly alive and well online and in our communities.”

The podcast description says the limited series will examine “where Antisemitism originated and why it continues to grow.”

HATE: Modern Antisemitism is available on the iHeartRadio app.

Mike Gallagher Mesmerized By Reach of ‘Tucker on Twitter’

“He is going to reach more people on Twitter than he ever did with his TV show.”

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson debuted his digital video program Tucker on Twitter Tuesday, and radio host Mike Gallagher shared his surprise at the reach of the program on the social media platform.

“He is back on Twitter. He had a scathing takedown of the mainstream media. More than 10 million people have viewed it already. It is unbelievable,” The Mike Gallagher Show host shared Wednesday. “He is going to reach more people on Twitter than he ever did with his TV show.”

Gallagher then played a clip of Carlson’s discussing the lack of reporting about where the money the US government has sent to Ukraine to fight the war against Russia has been allocated. Carlson said the media’s lack of interest in the story is disappointing, claiming “in journalism, curiosity is the gravest crime.”

“What a profound thing. Typical Tucker Carlson. In journalism, curiosity is the big crime. You are not allowed to be curious about COVID. We’re not allowed to ask about a vaccine. How dare you say anything about election integrity,” said Gallagher. “No, that is the greatest crime and you need to be shut down. You need to be shut down big time.”
