Writers Guild of America, East members of Audacy news WINS-AM/FM in New York, have overwhelmingly approved a new collective bargaining agreement with the radio station’s leadership.

As part of the agreement between the two parties, the new three-year contract contains minimum wage increases of three percent in the first year of the contract and 2.25% increases in the second and third years of the contract.

“This contract represents a very good deal for our members. We achieved wage increases for all Service Aides, Writers, and Editors, along with even greater wage improvements for News Production Assistants, with retroactivity to July when our old contract expired,” a statement from the Bargaining Unit read (h/t Inside Radio).

“We also won additional paid time off for both staff and freelance employees. We got a commitment from management to discuss certain other issues where we did not see eye-to-eye. All in all, the agreement is fair and we hope to work with management to further the issues we didn’t come to [an] agreement on.”

Along with the pay increase, both parties agree to hold talks if certain situations should occur, such as discussing meal penalties if the newsrooms of WCBS 880 and 1010 WINS are combined.

Eric Von Haessler: I’ve Never Watched Meet The Press

The announcement that Chuck Todd will leave Meet The Press later this year continues to draw media reaction. However, 95.5 WSB host Eric Von Haessler was unbothered by the development.

During The Von Haessler Doctrine Monday, the Atlanta host seemingly mocked some of the reaction to Todd’s departure, and noted that he’s never actually watched the NBC News program.

“What am I going to do now that Chuck Todd is no longer gonna be the host of Meet The Press? Oh, wait a minute. I’ve never one time in my life ever watched Meet The Press with Chuck Todd,” Von Haessler sarcastically said. “Does he have an explanation? Losing such a great journalist. Remember that time he broke that story? No, because he’s never broken a story in his life.”

Von Haessler later joked that listeners needed to sit down to hear the audio of Todd’s announcement because they would be devastated to learn of his impending departure. He then questioned the timing of the move.

“Some of the media scuttlebutt…some are saying Chuck Todd was kicked out of there. Then others are saying ‘No, no. He wanted to go’. Why on an odd year, though? Nine years? Why not stick around and do 10?” asked Von Haessler. “If the ball’s in your court, 10 is a nice number. ‘Yeah, I was the host of Meet The Press for 10 years.”

It was announced yesterday that The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show would be added to the daily lineup at KIDO in Boise. That move moved the show to more than 500 affiliates, which the pair celebrated on the air Monday.

As the first hour of Monday’s show concluded, the pair discussed the move, noting the strong lead-in the program would have with Marconi Award-winning host Kevin Miller hosting the station’s morning show before their program hits the air from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM MT.

Sexton shared that he spent many summer vacations in Idaho and looked forward to taking Travis to the area after sharing he had never been to the state.

After sharing their excitement for the show now airing in the Idaho capital, Travis shared that the show is nearing a benchmark set by its predecessor, Rush Limbaugh.

“Over 500 now affiliates as we continue to grow,” Travis said. “I think Rush once had 600, I think that was the peak Rush had, so we’re back up over 500 now. That’s a testament to you guys. We certainly appreciate that.”
