MSNBC Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough spent time in Congress as a Republican. Despite his current position on a liberal cable news network, he argues he’s still a conservative and has been one since before his detractors on Fox News knew what the word means.

On Thursday morning, Scarborough called the Fox News hosts criticizing him for his role in the removal of former RNC chair Ronna McDaniel from NBC News “little idiots,” adding that he’s not a “left-winger.”

“First of all, I’ve got a 95% (American Conservative Union) rating. I’m more conservative than any of them. I was part of Congress, and a big part of the reason if anybody was around, they’ll tell you that we balanced the budget for four years in a row for the first time, and the only time in 100 years,” the former Republican Congressman said.

He continued by adding that Liz Cheney, who also has a similar rating from the conservative think-tank was chastised for her failure to support former President Donald Trump.

While speaking with George Conway, Scarborough took a shot at the females from Fox News — without naming names — who have been critical of him in recent days.

“George, you and I were conservatives — and are conservatives — but we were conservatives when some of these women on Fox News who call us liberals were still playing with their Barbies,” Scarborough said confidently.

Oh Joe, you make me laugh. You are anything but a conservative.

CNN has announced plans to create a streaming TV news program based on its popular podcast and newsletter 5 Things on Max.

Hosted by Kate Bolduan, the new program will debut on Monday, April 15th on the streaming service.

“It’s the five essential stories of the morning in five minutes or less,” Bolduan said in a video promoting the launch of the show.

The show was set to be a tentpole of the shuttered CNN+ streaming service when it launched before Warner Bros. Discovery ended the platform mere weeks after its introduction.

A launch of a new program from CNN on the Max platform is latest expansion of the news brand’s digital focus under new CEO Mark Thompson.

In the March 2024 rankings from Podtrac, 5 Things was the 20th most listened-to podcast in the country, falling one spot from its previous month’s ranking.

Leland Vittert: Joseph Goebbels Would Be Proud of Tucker Carlson

“He’s taking the side of terrorists. There’s no other explanation than his unabashed hatred of Jews.”

In an interview for his digital video show, Tucker Carlson interviewed a Palestinian Christian Pastor — Dr. Munther Isaac — who claimed the Israelis, not the Palestinians, are killing members of his faith in Bethlehem. NewsNation host Leland Vittert couldn’t hold in his criticism of his former Fox News colleague after seeing the interaction.

In his takedown of Carlson, Vittert argued that the pastor he sat down with has lived and worked in an area controlled by Palesinians for “almost two decades,” so his insinuation that it is actually Israel doing the damage in his area is preposterous.

“If you wake up in the morning and decide that your Christian faith requires you to support a foreign government blowing up churches and killing Christians, I think you’ve lost the thread,” Carlson said while speaking with the reverend on his Tucker on X program published Tuesday.

Leland Vittert — after juxtaposing Carlson’s opinions with those of The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart — took the opportunity to compare Tucker Carlson to one of the more prominent Nazi figures.

“Joseph Goebbels – the Nazi propaganda chief — would be proud,” said Vittert. “Tucker’s a smart guy. Yet, he’s taking the side of terrorists. There’s no other explanation than his unabashed hatred of Jews. Twenty years ago, we all remember, Stewart exposed Tucker for what he is. That ended Carlson’s tenure on CNN’s Crossfire.

“But there’s a larger lesson to take now six months since Hamas attacked Israel, since the hostages were taken. Hamas has been exposed for what they are. Stewart has been exposed for caving to his liberal viewers. Carlson’s been exposed for siding with terrorists. And now in America – and this is the sad part – hating Jews, calling for their destruction, celebrating their rape? It’s now ok. It’s hard to have peace with people who think that is ok.”

CBS News has announced an upcoming rebrand of its streaming network and will double the amount of live hours in the process.

On Monday, April 22nd, CBS News Streaming Network will become CBS News 24/7. The network will add new programming as it comes under the full control of the division’s President and CEO Wendy McMahon.

“CBS News 24/7 is a decidedly ambitious evolution of our streaming efforts,” said McMahon. “Data backs up our bet on a fresh, timely, and distinctive approach to breaking news and live coverage. Our audiences crave it, and we’re in the best position to deliver it.”

The network will add a show with John Dickerson called The Daily Report, as well as an extended edition of America Decides on the date of the rebranding. CBS News Roundup and CBS News Confirmed will each be added later this year.

Several “hub” cities will help contribute content to the streaming network. Those hubs will include Cleveland, Columbus, Des Moines, Houston, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Nashville, New Orleans, Phoenix, Raleigh, St. Louis, San Antonio, and Tampa.

“These news hubs will help us overall respond to stories faster during breaking news simply because we will have people there,” Senior Vice President of Domestic Newsgathering Terri Stewart told CNN’s Oliver Darcy. “Our national movement of community journalism is in response to population shifts across the country, and it’s an extension of what we did at CBS Stations to turn neighborhoods into newsrooms.”
