Ben Shapiro: Candace Owens Opinions on Israel ‘Disgraceful’

“I think that her faux-sophistication on these particular issues has been ridiculous.”

A video of The Daily Wire co-founder Ben Shapiro criticizing Candace Owens — who works for the company — is making the rounds on social media.

“I think her behavior during this has been disgraceful, without a doubt,” Shapiro said to applause while addressing a crowd at a private event. He then acknowledged that she “still works at my company”, before continuing his remarks. “I think that her faux-sophistication on these particular issues has been ridiculous.”

He concluded by calling the statements made by Owens “disreputable”.

Earlier this month, Owens compared Israel to the pre-segregation South, by erroneously claiming that Muslims in Jerusalem are only allowed to live in the “Muslim Quarters”. The Muslim Quarter is a neighborhood in the city. An estimated 300,000 Muslims live in the city, with only 22,000 Muslims living in the area. Owens pointed to the situation as proof that Israel isn’t a “bastion of freedom”.

Shapiro isn’t the only conservative commentator to take issue with Owens’ stances on the Israel/Hamas conflict. Radio host Erick Erickson called Owens an anti-Semite and an idiot for her statement, before calling her opinions “embarrassing”.

Owens is just the latest pundit to catch Shapiro’s ire. Late last month, Shapiro called opinions shared by former Fox News host Tucker Carlson “bizarre” and “ugly”, while adding that the host was being “fully disingenuous” on his stances.

Megyn Kelly: Debate Moderators Are Always Afraid of Looking Dumb

“The moderator, after the first time, would say ‘You didn’t answer the question. It was about immigration, sir’ … But once you’re on the third or the fourth time having to do that, you look dumb.”

Not many news/talk radio hosts have debate moderator experience. SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly does and believes there’s a reason why their performances never receive rave reviews.

While discussing the upcoming CNN presidential debate alongside Dan Bongino on The Megyn Kelly Show, the two discussed the strategy that former President Donald Trump (R) should employ against President Joe Biden (D) in the June event.

In his stance, Bongino argued that the cards will be stacked against Trump from moderators Dana Bash and Jake Tapper, so he should simply make statements wholly unrelated to whatever questions were asked of him.

“Nobody respects the media anyway. Nobody thinks the media is going to be fair to Trump,” Bongino argued. “They don’t need advice from me. They’re doing fine on their own. But if it were me on stage, I wouldn’t even answer the question asked.”

He continued that the questions would be “stupid” and “biased.”

“Why should Donald Trump pay attention to the moderator? Just do your own thing. He’s good at that,” Bongino concluded.

Kelly utilized her own experience as a debate moderator to tell Bongino why that would work.

“That’s a great idea. The moderator, after the first time, would say ‘You didn’t answer the question. It was about immigration, sir. We’ll get to that other subject later.’ But once you’re on the third or the fourth time having to do that, you look dumb,” said Kelly. “It looks like it’s not your debate.”

Rudy Giuliani Hosting Daily Show on X After 77 WABC Dismissal

In what led to his exit from the station, much of the content on the new daily video show from the former New York Mayor has been sharing his reasoning for why the 2020 election was “stolen” from former President Donald Trump.

After departing 77 WABC earlier this month, Rudy Giuliani intends to beef up the digital video efforts he hosts on Rumble and X.

Giuliani was originally suspended by WABC owner John Catsimatidis for his refusal to abide by company policies regarding the validity of the 2020 presidential election. After he accosted the station, company, and the billionaire publicly, Catsimatidis ultimately ended Giulaini’s weekday afternoon program on the New York news/talk outlet.

In response, Giuliani has claimed he has been “banned” from the station and has subsequently been hosting a one-hour video show on X using the same Rudy Giuliani Show branding he utilized while with WABC.

In what led to his exit from the station, much of the content on the new daily video show from the former New York Mayor has been sharing his reasoning for why the 2020 election was “stolen” from former President Donald Trump. Giuliani worked as a lawyer on Trump’s legal team that has continually claimed he did not lose to President Joe Biden.

Rudy Giuliani claimed in a social media post that he was “canceled” from the New York news/talk station “for refusing to agree to their overly-broad restriction on my ability to talk about the 2020 Presidential Election.”

Former C-Ville 107.5 host Joe Thomas is set to launch a talk format on WTON and a pair of translators he purchased in March that led to his departure from his longtime radio home.

On Saturday, May 25th, Thomas will launch the talk format on the Staunton, Virginia station he purchased for $275,000, alongside FM translators on 98.9 in Harrisonburg and 101.1 in Crozet, VA.

“We want to hear your voice,” Thomas said in a statement to the Staunton News Leader. “We’ll bring you coverage of the local stories from this wide area we’ll be covering as we develop the best local shows alongside an all-star lineup of shows all day.”

After Monticello Media learned of Thomas’ purchase of the station in Staunton — which is roughly 45 minutes west of Charlottesville — the station ended its relationship with the morning drive host and Program Director. He had worked at the station since 2007.

Since his departure, Thomas has been hosting a digital program in preparation for his new station and program to launch.

With the new lineup on WTON, Joe Thomas will host the morning show that begins at 6 AM. The rest of the station lineup has yet to be finalized, he told the newspaper, stating that he’s still interested in formulating local programming before turning to nationally syndicated offerings.
