Fox News: Lawsuit From Hunter Biden ‘Devoid of Merit’

“FOX News has accurately covered the newsworthy events of Mr. Biden’s own making, and we look forward to vindicating our rights in court.”

Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, has filed a lawsuit against Fox News claiming the network attempted to “harass, annoy, alarm, and humiliate” him and tried to “tarnish his reputation.”

In 2022, Fox News created a “mock trial” series that argued what a possible trial against the President’s son could look like if charges were ever brought against him.

The lawsuit alleges that the network broke certain New York statutes, including a “revenge porn” law, by showing nude photos of Biden in the series.

In April, the series was removed from the FOX Nation streaming platform after attorneys for Biden threatened legal action.

Fox News has denied any wrongdoing in the situation.

“This entirely politically motivated lawsuit is devoid of merit. The core complaint stems from a 2022 streaming program that Mr. Biden did not complain about until sending a letter in late April 2024,” a Fox News spokesperson told Barrett News Media.

“The program was removed within days of the letter, in an abundance of caution, but Hunter Biden is a public figure who has been the subject of multiple investigations and is now a convicted felon. Consistent with the First Amendment, FOX News has accurately covered the newsworthy events of Mr. Biden’s own making, and we look forward to vindicating our rights in court.”

With the second quarter ending, CNN has continued its strong digital results by concluding the quarter as one of the leading news brands in several metrics.

CNN finished both June and the entire second quarter as the leader in unique visitors in both the United States and globally, according to Comscore.

In May, 107 million unique visitors were reached by CNN platforms, keeping it as the top digital news platform in that metric for the eighth consecutive year. That figure reached 138 million in April.

CNN led The New York Times in unique visitors in May by 15 million visitors, while its April finish surpassed the BBC for the global lead.

Additionally, CNN finished the quarter with the youngest audience of cable news viewers during the total day ratings. The median age of CNN viewers was 67, while Fox News featured a median age of 69 and MSNBC’s was 70.

Tomi Lahren: CNN ‘Doesn’t Suddenly Have a Vested Interest in Fairness’ After Presidential Debate

“While some are giving CNN moderators a lot of credit, I don’t.”

CNN earned high praise from many in the media world for its production of the presidential debate last week. It is safe to say OutKick’s Tomi Lahren isn’t in that group.

During her Fox News Commentary, Lahren argued that many pundits and analysts — including debate moderators Jake Tapper and Dana Bash — owe Americans an apology.

“While some are giving CNN moderators a lot of credit, I don’t. This was part of the plan,” she said. “They didn’t throw Joe a lifeline because — as I’ve been saying — nobody wants JoeBiden. So the moderators simply allowed him to sink. It wasn’t because these CNN moderators suddenly have a vested interest in fairness. It’s because they wanted Joe to fail in front of the world. Everybody does.”

CNN received heavy criticism from many conservative media members for tapping Bash and Tapper to serve as the debate moderators of the first presidential debate of the campaign season.

However, after watching the 90-minute event last week, many gave the duo high praise for their handling of President Biden and former President Donald Trump in a first-of-its-kind setting.

President Joe Biden has received criticism in some circles for failing to do an interview after his lackluster debate performance last week. It’s been announced that George Stephanopoulos will helm the first interview with President Biden for ABC News.

Stephanopoulos will sit down with Biden on Friday and will air the interview on This Week on Sunday and a portion will air on Good Morning America on Monday, July 8th.

ABC News has announced that a preview of the interview will be available on World News Tonight with David Muir on Friday.

President Biden has been mostly mum publicly about his debate performance which was widely panned by both sides of the political aisle. Some inside the Democratic Party have called for the commander-in-chief to step aside from the 2024 presidential campaign due to his performance at last week’s event.
