Chris Plante: I Left CNN in Disgust

“I was at the Pentagon covering the military and intelligence community most of the time, and I eventually left in disgust because I came to my senses.”

Chris Plante recently launched a primetime panel show on Newsmax, and after spending 17 years at CNN, he shared his knowledge of what is happening behind the scenes as the network continues going through a tumultuous time.

During Chris Plante The Right Squad Wednesday, the panel discussed the departure of Chris Licht, when Plante felt it was important to note that “I actually worked for CNN for many years back in that era.”

He then clarified his duties at the network before sharing that he departed for what he viewed as a liberal bias.

“I was at the Pentagon covering the military and intelligence community most of the time, and I eventually left in disgust because I came to my senses,” Plante concluded.

Plante’s comments came after panelist Kelly Sadler said that the “rebellion in the newsroom” was what led to Licht’s downfall, claiming that reporters and hosts didn’t want to move from their left-leaning positions.

“They were happy in their left-leaning lane that got zero ratings, and they want to be there, and no matter what leadership does, unless they fire their anchors and their news reporters, there’s going to be no change whatsoever at CNN,” said Sadler. “They’re just gonna fall to the leftist mob.”

Jen Psaki ‘Skeptical’ CNN, ABC News Presidential Debates Actually Happen

She added that some of the stipulations of the debate could be a sticking point for the Trump camp that could ultimately lead to him reneging on his pledge to appear.

Yesterday, CNN and ABC News both announced dates for presidential debates. MSNBC host Jen Psaki is skeptical the events actually take place.

While appearing on Pod Save America, the former Biden Press Secretary was asked about the surprise announcements that both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump would be debating one another after both had been hesitant to participate.

“I’m still a skeptic, a little bit,” she said.

When one of the co-hosts agreed that she was right to hold that position, the MSNBC host said that the play by the Biden campaign to put the ball in Trump’s court was an “interesting” development.

However, Jen Psaki added that some of the stipulations of the debate could be a sticking point for the Trump camp that could ultimately lead to him reneging on his pledge to appear.

“Trump could certainly say, ‘I never agreed to those specifics in the letter,’ and he probably will, and that’s how this all falls apart even though he’s basically said, ‘I would debate him anytime,’” said Psaki.

As currently constructed, CNN will host the two candidates at its Atlanta studios on Thursday, June 27th. ABC News is set to host its debate on Tuesday, September 10th. Neither event will feature a live audience, and both networks have yet to announce a concrete format or debate moderators.

“The Vietnam War was such a pivotal moment in our nation’s history, and it is both an honor and privilege to view the war through the footsteps of my father,” said Faulkner. “I am so grateful for the opportunity to journey to Vietnam and look forward to sharing this remarkable story with our viewers.”

In the three episodes, Harris Faulkner interviews military historian Brian DeToy, retired U.S. Army Lt. Cols. Nick Edinger and Bob Anckaitis, U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper and family members, uncles Timothy Lane Jr. and Ronnie Lane, among others.

Chris Cuomo: NewsNation Sent Letter to Israel Asking Permission to Report Inside Gaza

“There’s no way a conflict of this magnitude should be going on without a fair appraisal from the ground.”

NewsNation host Chris Cuomo has been critical of Israel in recent weeks for its lack of access for journalists in the Gaza Strip. He shared Wednesday that his network is joining his cause.

Currently, no journalists are permitted to cover the ongoing conflict between the Hamas terrorist organization and the Israeli army in Gaza. And on Cuomo, the longtime cable news host shared why he believes that’s wrong.

“I want to tell you something that actually matters to your interests. Many of you have asked about my recent criticism that Israel should allow media to be on the ground in Gaza. NewsNation agrees, and has sent a letter demanding access,” said Cuomo. “Why? The obvious, there’s no way a conflict of this magnitude should be going on without a fair appraisal from the ground.

“And I have to be honest, I understand why the IDF, why Israeli politicians would be concerned about people seeing what they’re doing, but that’s only more reason to have people see what they’re doing. And also, they’re worried that they may injure journalists as they have in the past. But that is not their choice to make. That is the choice of a free media. And that is a choice that we freely make.”

Chris Cuomo urged NewsNation viewers to share their opinions on social media, too, to help influence the decision by the Israeli government.

“If you care about seeing the reality on the ground, figuring out how bad the suffering is, what the real numbers are or getting close to it, let it be known that you want to see more coverage of the actual realities. The players pay attention to social media. Your voice will be heard.”
